Conscious Production

In a world where everything is fast, we’re consciously here to be slower and more considered. Our aim, in the longer term, is to tread as lightly as we can on the planet. In the shorter term, this means launching the brand and debut collection with the foundations to get us there.

Many moving parts exist in producing with conscience. It takes time and capital to get there (and even then, the goalposts are ever changing) but here’s where we stand now and the aim across our production touch points.

Founded by us, Jess and Jenny, we’re two busy Mum’s who want to leave the planet a better place for the next generation whilst creating beauty and joy in what we deliver.

Fabrics

The fabrics we currently use have a blend of origins. Our suppliers are based in France, Portugal and the UK, whilst some of the fabric fibres used by these suppliers originate from further afield. For example, our organza uses 100% Chinese Silk. Many of the French laces are certified to OETEX 100 standard and carry the ‘Made in France’ label of quality.

The fibres used can be polyamide, polyester or recycled polyester, cotton or organic cotton, nylon and more. We don’t hide away the fact that yes, many of these are synthetic fibres; but nonetheless they are premium, well made fabrics that contain the right qualities for the collection pieces. We hope that our products become heirloom pieces, are re-made or re-used; that the products have an impactful and purposeful existence.

The aim? Sustainable fibres from carbon neutral or carbon positive origins that are fully traceable in production chains. Do these exist? We are researching and keeping an eye on the markets for their presence and of course the fabrics need to perform as required. This, combined with pricing and feasibility, make it a longer term goal for us but an important one.

Design

We design for style and versatility, with a nod to trends but without bowing down to them. Following every seasonal trend would equate to fast fashion, over production and wastage. Instead, our collections are crafted to complement a range of bridal styles, regardless of the current trends. We’ve been styling real brides for years and we know what works, and will stand the test of time.

Production

Every garment is made to order. We only cut, sew, pack and deliver the orders we’ve received. This reduces wastage, means we don’t hold stock (that ultimately may not sell) and most importantly for brides, means we can make bespoke changes during production. Simply put, there’s something inherently special about a piece being made just for you.

Our design base is in Hope Valley, Derbyshire. Orders are cut, sewn and finished at our partner atelier an hour down the road. It’s a team we’ve been working with for years for bridal fittings. We know their work and the quality at which it’s created. It has to be perfect; it’s made just for you.

“We hope that our products become heirloom pieces... that they have an impactful and purposeful existence.”
