Our Products

What do you make?

We create handcrafted bridal capes, scarves and accessories designed to complement your wedding day look. Priced from £195 to £1200, they range from sheer organzas to the finest french laces. All of our products are made to order and delivered within 8 - 16 weeks.

Can I see full product details and sizing before I buy?

Yes. Each product listing includes full specifications, materials, dimensions and sizing information specific to that style. We recommend reviewing these carefully before placing your order, as we are unable to accept returns.

If you have any questions or would like further detail on a particular item, you are welcome to email us or use our contact form and we will be happy to help.

Are your products available to buy in person?

Please take a look at our stockists information, to find a bridal studio that holds a selection of our samples. If you are interested in a specific item, it's worth contacting the stockist prior to booking an appointment to confirm which items they contain in their sample collection. If a stockist isn't located close enough for you to try, we recommend ordering fabric swatches to view and feel the fabrics before committing to ordering.

Where are your products manufactured?

All of our products are created made to order at our partner atelier in Derbyshire. We have been working with the atelier team for the past 5 years and knew that their skills and techniques were exactly what we were looking for in the production of the collection.

Made to Order

What is the difference between made-to-order and in-stock items?

Made-to-order items are handcrafted specifically for you after your order is received. This means your item is created fresh, but it does require a longer lead time. The intention is meaningful, as made to order items result in less wasted fabric; we are only creating what needs to be created. It also allows us the flexibility to adapt items (where requested and feasible) to bride's requests. There is something truly special knowing the piece has been created purposely, and lovingly, for your wedding day.

How long does a made-to-order piece take to produce?

Our standard production timeframe for made-to-order pieces is 8 - 16 weeks. Please refer to the product page for specific timeframes relevant for each product. The timing will depend upon fabrics, seasonality and the volume of orders being received. If you need an item faster than this, please get in touch with us to see if we can expedite it through production for you.

Once your piece is complete, it will be dispatched and you will receive tracking information via email.

My wedding is sooner than your standard production time — can you help?

We understand that sometimes timelines are tight, and we will always do our best to help. Please contact us before placing your order, letting us know your wedding date, and we will confirm whether a rush is possible.

Rush orders are subject to availability and will typically incur an additional charge. We cannot guarantee expedited production in every case, so we strongly recommend getting in touch as early as possible.

You can reach us via our contact form or by email at hello@capeandvale.com

Sizing and Fit

How are your products sized?

All of our items come in a single size; the measurements and dimensions of which are listed on each product page. We strongly recommend reviewing these to confirm you will be happy with the drape and fit of each piece. If you require any help in working this out, please get in touch with us and we can guide you through how to measure.

What if I need a custom size or alteration?

Many of our made-to-order capes can be adapted to your specific measurements, but this does depend on the product and the fabric used. Please get in touch with us via email at hello@capeandvale.com or fill in our contact form with your requirements and we will let you know what is possible and any implications for the production timeline or price.

Shipping and Tracking

Where do you ship to?

We currently ship to addresses within the United Kingdom only. We hope to extend delivery destinations in the future; if you are based outside the UK and are interested in our products, please feel free to contact us to register your interest.

How long will delivery take?

All items are made to order and then dispatched once production is complete (approximately 8–16 weeks).

Once dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email with your tracking details.

How do I track my order once dispatched?

When your order is dispatched via our courier you will receive an email containing your tracking number and a direct link to follow your parcel's journey in real time.

If you have not received your tracking information within the expected timeframe, please check your spam folder first, then contact us and we will look into it for you.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and the items ordered.

Returns Policy

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Due to our collection being made to order, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges. All sales are final.

We strongly recommend requesting a fabric sample, reviewing all sizing information on the product page, and contacting us with any questions before placing your order. We are always happy to help you make the right choice.

Please read our full Shipping and Returns Policy prior to purchasing.

What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

While we take great care in packaging every order, if your piece arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at hello@capeandvale.com with photographs and your order number. We will work with you to resolve the issue promptly. For full details, please see our Shipping & No Returns Policy.

Fabric and Colour Matching

How do I know if the colour will match my wedding dress/outfit?

We know how important it is that your accessories complements your gown perfectly. That is why we offer fabric swatches so you can check the colour and texture in person, against your dress or outfit, and before committing to an order.

Swatches are available to purchase and are sent at a small postage charge. To order yours, simply view our swatches product page and select your chosen fabrics.

Do your fabrics photograph differently from how they look in person?

We do our best to photograph our collection accurately, but screen colours can vary depending on your device's settings. Requesting a fabric swatch is always the most reliable way to confirm a colour matching or complementing before ordering.

Style Advice

I'm not sure which style of cape suits me — can you help?

Absolutely. Helping brides find the perfect piece is one of our favourite parts of what we do. Whether you have a clear vision or are starting from scratch, we are here to guide you.

Get in touch with us at hello@capeandvale.com with a little information about your dress or outfit, venue and the overall feel you are going for, and we will offer personalised recommendations.

Can I share photos of my dress or inspiration images when asking for advice?

Yes, please do! Photos of your dress or outfit, neckline, back detail, or any inspiration images are incredibly helpful when making item recommendations. The more context you can share, the better we can match you to the right style. It's worth checking if there's a stockist local to you too, where you can try selections of our samples with a bridal stylist at their studio.

What if bridal capes and scarves fall out of trend?

It's a fair question and one we understand! We work with brides every week and the bridal industry moves fast; that's why we've designed the collection to sit gently alongside trends, without falling head first into them. Ultimately, everything will ebb and flow in and out of trend cycles, but the most important question is: do you love it? If you do, it truly doesn't matter if it sits within what the industry deems 'fashionable' at any one time.
